Which is the beautiful city in Karnataka

1 day in Bangalore - The perfect city tour

Is it your first time in Bangalore? And only have one day? Then you will find the perfect city tour here.

Bangalore is the capital of the state of Karnataka in southern India and the third largest city in the country. The fastest growing city in India has blossomed into the most important start-up location in the world alongside Silicon Valley. Thousands of domestic and foreign high-tech companies such as Amazon, Siemens and IBM have settled in Bangalore. With its extensive parks, gardens, avenues and lakes, Bangalore is often referred to as the “garden city of India”. I spent a day in Bangalore and was pleasantly surprised by the city. Compared to other major Indian cities, I found Bangalore to be very relaxed and clean. I could easily explore the city without being spoken to from all sides or feeling overwhelmed by the crowds. The city also has some great sights to offer and the tourist center can be easily explored on foot. If you want to see all the important sights in Bangalore, I recommend the following city tour.

9 o'clock The starting point is the St Marks Road, one of the most popular shopping streets in the city. Walk past the nice St Mark’s Cathedral until you reach the popular Cubbon Park got. In Bangalore's 121 hectare oasis, you'll find more than a hundred different species of trees and plants. There is also a beautiful building in the park Karnataka High Court. Directly opposite you can admire one of the most popular sights in the city, namely the Vidhana Soudha. The four-storey building serves as parliament and secretariat and was built entirely of granite in the neo-David style.

11 clock Walk down Post Office Road and Avenue Road until you get to the Krishnarajendra City Market got. With numerous stalls, the largest and liveliest market in Bangalore is a feast for the senses. Right next to the market is the beautiful one Jama Masjid. The city's oldest mosque has an impressive facade that is decorated with elaborate Jali elements and floral motifs. In the immediate vicinity of the mosque you can also see the last remaining ruins of the popular Bangalore Fort from 1761.

13 o'clock After a short break, head to two other popular attractions in Bangalore. The Palace of Tipu Sultan from 1791 inspires with its teak pillars and ornamental frescoes. The Venkataraman temple impresses with its beautiful decorations.

2:30 p.m. Get into an auto rickshaw and head to the beautiful Bangalore Palace, the construction of which was completed in 1887. The palace is modeled on Windsor Castle in England and consists of several towers. Inside the palace there are valuable furniture, hunting trophies and unique wood carvings.

4:30 p.m. With the auto rickshaw we go back towards the city center to the wonderful ones Lalbagh Botanical Gardens. The botanical garden with its numerous fountains, lotus ponds and tropical plants invites you to linger. One of the highlights of the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens is the greenhouse, which was built on the model of the former London Crystal Palace.

6 p.m. Your city tour ends with a visit to the botanical garden. You have seen the most important sights in Bangalore and can end the day in one of the numerous shopping malls (Orion Mall, Phoenix Market City, Lifestyle) or in the trendy Indiranagar district.
